1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
2. Combine cake mix, oil, vanilla extract, and eggs to mixing bowl.
3. Beat with mixer.
4. Pour batter into greased and floured 9 x 13-inch baking pan.
5. Bake 45 minutes.
6. Test with toothpick inserted in cake.
7. Punch holes in cake with knife 2 inches apart.
8. Spread pineapple pie filling over cake while hot.
